Faith Wheels Tankers was established in July of 2007 by Jacques Fourie. Jacques, previously employed in the transport industry, started the company by obtaining a contract to transport fuel from Secunda to Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga for and on behalf of Elegant Fuels who are part of The Elegant Group. The company purchased 2 x new International 9800i truck tractors, 2 x new Freightliner Argosy 500ISX truck tractors and 4 x new GRW fuel tankers, which were financed by GRW Leasing and WesBank as a new venture. Mark Fourie joined Faith Wheels Tankers in March of 2009 and Jacques and Mark are the current Directors of the company.

Jacques gained invaluable experience through his previous employment at Cargo Carriers (5 years), Roadbulk (9 years) and Reef Tankers (3 years). As Operations Controller at Cargo Carriers, Jacques controlled a fleet of 25 vehicles, mainly dry bulk tankers as well as other general-purpose vehicles. As Operations Manager at both Roadbulk and Reef Tankers, with a combined fleet size of 60 vehicles, Jacques was fully responsible for the daily operations of the business as well as overseeing the technical side and marketing functions. He completed the Management Advancement Programme (MAP) at Wits Business School as well as a Diploma in Transport at RAU.

Mark gained his managerial experience as General Manager at Marco Spinazze Computers (6 years), Area Manager at Future Cell (2 years) and Regional Manager at Africa Prepaid Services in Mozambique (4 years). Marco Spinazze Computers supplied computer hardware to the SME market as well as having the supply contract to Wits University. Mark was fully responsible for the finance, purchasing, technical and marketing functions of the company. As shareholder of Africa Prepaid Services, an affiliate of Blue Label Telecoms, Mark was sent to Mozambique with a team to establish a new business as distributor and Super Dealer for Vodacom Mozambique. Mark was made Regional Manager of Africa Prepaid Services Mozambique. Africa Prepaid Services Mozambique established itself as the leading Super Dealer for Vodacom Mozambique, owning 68% of Vodacom Mozambique’s subscriber base. During this time a distribution network of 8 branches was established.

Decisions are made and implemented promptly without unnecessary delays, which are often experienced in large corporations.
